No-exam life insurance

Eligibility for expedited underwriting, the process, and alternatives if you don't qualify.

Numerous carriers provide accelerated underwriting: for applicants meeting age and coverage limits, decisions rely on the application, medication records, driving history and similar sources rather than medical exams. Approvals sometimes arrive within hours. This site notes for each quote whether an exam is mandatory, conditional, or unnecessary.

What it changes

No exam does not bypass underwriting. Responses are cross-checked; a policy based on false answers can be challenged in the first two years. If the carrier uncovers questions through records, it may request testing or labs; you choose whether to proceed.

Who tends to qualify

Generally applicants under approximately age 60 requesting coverage up to the carrier's expedited approval cap, without serious health issues and no nicotine use for a year or longer. Some carriers substitute recent medical lab work from a doctor visit for a physical exam.

Should an exam be needed, a paramedic typically visits your Oxnard home or workplace for 20 to 30 minutes at no charge. For healthy applicants, examination results frequently lead to better rates, making exams potentially beneficial.
